How hard is the Masters of information systems program for someone who doesn’t have a background in computers or mathematics? I have a Bachelor’s of Science in Architecture and I’m looking into other disciplines. I am interested particularly interested in UMBC’s Master of information systems program mainly because the job market appears excellent and I have always had an interest in technology.
IT job market is not excellent these days. Many big corporations are laying people off(Sun,Dell,Hp,Ibm,Symanted).
Regarding your question, as long as you took basic programming courses in college you should be fine. But they will probably require you to take some business course prerequisites first.
erm… well then u need to explain what statement u need
How might an automobile company use a management information system to reduce its costs and better serve its customers? Explain the various types of input data the system might use, and describe what types of output reports managers would find useful.
one very important thing is reducing time – for sales, procurement, recording correct data of all transactions specially for the changes in no. of materials that are coming in or going out of the system or are exchanged between departments.
the other thing is controling financial transactions. controling the checks, preventing mistakes, checking discrepancies and thus preventing loss (= gain)
you can be informed of what you need in the company in the proper time and not too late. you can plan your company’s production and all resources that are needed including human resources, and this way you can manage time in a proper manner so time, people and material can be well planned, execution of the plan will also get easier, and the management will know much more about what is being done in the company. even before production is completed you can forecast the sapce for putting them (warehouses). you can foresee your budget on the basis of last few years of the company’s sales and market needs. by using an IS you can check the expenses for each department with the reason and see where you have money leakage. an IS helps a lot in all areas to save time and resources (saving money and time. )
hi im planning to go to a vocational school(need to graduate asap and please dont tell me to go to a regular college instead because my decision is final) but im having trouble choosing between the two.
a.) which is a better career?
b.) which one makes more money?
c.) which one is easier/harder?
d.) which one would you recommend?
e.) which vocational school is the best for these courses? (the only schools that i know so far are Devry and ITT but i heard Devry is better)
thanks =)
I know you said you don’t want to hear this but i’m being honest, schools such as ITT and devry, are jokes. They’re over priced and they don’t give you the head on PLUS education that you need in order to be successful and advance have in technology field. Technology is steady changing every day and there is a lot of valid information learned through text that you won’t receive through those type of technical institutions. If I were you, I would look into community colleges with vocational departments. People will tell you that a degree doesn’t matter but an AA or BS in computer network looks better to a company than a certificate from ITT tech. Most companies will hire employees with an AA alone. These companies pay very good money. Receiving a degree in either of those would only take 2 years…about the same time it’ll take for a certificate from a vocational school. If you’re afraid of the general education portion, don’t worry, you’ll discover that it’s not as bad as you think generally with community colleges.
To answer your question, I would choose the information system. Don’t get that confused with Information technology. They are different. I wish you the best of luck!
WHat cities have a good job market for a person with my degree? I am considering NYC for family reasons. Any further suggestions? I know it is expensive up there so plz don’t tell me anything I already know. Thanks!
like most fields, IT demand is higer where there is robust population growth, which is not in the northeast, although the large business centers there offset that somewhat for IT. My advice to is search the job sites using the search option for x miles from NYC and see what comes up. Job experience will be a huge factor.
Our salaries were released to a newspaper. Everyone who works in the school system their pay has been made public knowledge.Someone had to release this information from payroll.
Could you personally file a lawsuit ?
No, you couldn’t.
You can show no harm from your salary being made public.
Now could the school board file a lawsuit, more than likely for releasing privlidged information.
But if they found out who did it, they would probally just fire them.
I didn’t choose my major in Business college yet but i wanna ask about Management information system (MIS), is it a good major , position and salary wise, is there other alternatives , please give me some advice
