TREEMETRICS FOREST LASER MEASUREMENT SYSTEM.wmv

TreeMetrics have developed a 3d forest measurement system using laser scanners and a fully automated software. We have replaced the common calipers with state of the art sensors to deliver better forest information. This is the first commercially available solution in the world that measures tree straightness and taper. We have linked this 3d data to a cutting simulation software, which allows the forest owner to assess the growth, forest valuation and harvest options before the trees are cut. This results in better decision making, helping to ensure better use of this important resource.

Very innovated and scientific approach to forestry measurement and stock assessment. Good idea to give a demo video, looks like a rapid and assured way to value forestry output using high-tech equipment and software. Would be nice to know the countries where you’ve tested and proven it’s benefits.
