SOLAR DISTILLED WATER FRESNEL LENS WATER FILTRATION SYSTEM CLEAN DRINKING WATER Solar Distiller.

These Water filtration systems offer an alternative to water damage cause by several causes. This solar distiller can creat water deliver of .5 GPH

There are a lot of websites that quote the same incorrect information regarding distilled water in soda and mineral leaching. If this were true, and it is not, the aluminum would be leached and water with sugar, or artificial sweetener would become heavy. If you are concerned, add 10mg Na to each liter. Also, eating food with water, all minerals are mixed with fluid in the stomach converting distilled water into mineral water. Distilled water is not magic, if you add a splash of milk to tea made with distilled water, you now have 10x the calcium of regular mineral water.

Distilled water is very good for you. The only areas it may cause a problem is developing nations that have near famine conditions. For the rest of the world who usually ingest 15x the sodium recommended, distilled water leaches salt first. ONLY IF you are salt deprived (extremely rare) will distilled water leach excess potassium and or calcium.

You would need to drink about 2 gallons in 10 hours for there to be a problem.

If heavy sweating, water of any kind is only a thirst quencher or temporary fluid fix. Most people can afford 7 pounds of sweat (near gallon) replaced with only water before electrolytes become an issue. At that point, electrolytes are needed regardless of water type ingested. Mineral water has very small trace minerals and represents a small fraction of where K, Na, Ca. Fot you to get your average daily requirements of Ca and K from water, it would taste terrible.

  1. ah, so you use …
ah, so you use solar energy, I thought you used batteries that are charged differently, my mistake but okay. :)

  2. Solar enegry isn’t …
Solar enegry isn’t green? This guy does alot with solar enegry. Check out his other vids. I was just kidding around as if the water was still full of microbes. I have nothing against the guy at all. No need to apologize. ;)

  3. lol, that doesn’t …
lol, that doesn’t have anything to do with green “things”. but ok, since it was a joke, my apologies.

  4. Holy tightass …
Holy tightass batman. Take a joke. I understand it completely. I design electric vehicle systems so I know all about “green things”.

If you don’t know anything about this, don’t comment.

Nice video! Fun science. So a quick question or two. I boil sap each spring for maple syrup. I’m wondering if I could use the Frensel lens set up to boil sap effectively. I use a 5 gallon pot over a propane burner now. Would you suggest I use a spot or a linear lens focused on the sap in the pot? Also, the price for the lens is a bit steep for me. Where might I salvage one? Thanks!

Could a black metal bottle be used instead of the dark glass bottle?

  11. Drinking distilled …
Drinking distilled water is fine. It’s almost pure H2O. Drinking too much water of any type can be unhealthful unless you also take in salt, vitamins and minerals to replace those that get flushed through your system. If you are in an area like where I am that has higher than normal concentrations of heavy metals like mercury or other contaminants, distilling your drinking water is a good practice. Just boiling the water will kill bacteria, but will not remove any toxins.

  12. you actually forgot …
you actually forgot one point… i dont think you can drink distilled water. i’ m not sure but something in distilled water is not good for you. gotta check this though. distilled water mainly used in appliances that can create salt deposits with regular water.

good to use this in countries where clean drinking water is not readily available, but I am sure they already do this? I would not be surprised if they don’t

    Some yes. If you …
Some yes. If you have a high concentration. Distill then run through CARBON BLOCK filter. The distillation will extend the life of carbon filters by 10 times.

Also boil water open for 10 minutes before distilling. This evaporates many VOC with lower boiling points.

    dear sir!!
we have just fund out that hevy metal desolved/presens in our drinking water,

I am sorry but there are much, much, simpler ways to (safely!) distill water using sunlight.
Why so much hassle with lens and copper tubing etc…???
