  • What are the difference between accounting information system and payroll system?

Posted by admin on February 18th, 2010 and filed under is information system | 2 Comments »

and what is the easier to do between the two?

They are totally different. One is used to post accounting transactions to the general ledger, the other is used to maitina employee records, calculate paychecks, and track taxes and other deductions.

One requires knowledge of accounting, the other requires knowledge of payroll procedures (and a little accounting).

Accounting information system (ais) deals with all means of translating accounting and accounting-related transactions into a system where everything can be accessed in matter of seconds and generate reports and analysis from it. Payroll system is just one of the sub-systems created as AIS. It is more involved in payroll transactions.
