difference between information systems and information technology?
ok, I really like computers and I would like to work in IT when i’m done with school. My college offers a computer information systems degree. Is there a difference between Information systems and information technology? Will having a degree in information systems not allow me to get some jobs since I don’t have a degree in information technology or does it not matter? Is there also any difference in management information systems. Can you get the same jobs with either degree?
Also my school offers a degree in computer science.
Here’s a quickie:
Information System refers to business computing.
Information Technology is the field for computer studies/application.
Hope this helps.
Information systems usually refers to managing information systems (aka computers) and working with networks. On the other hand, information technology teaches about computers in general (programming, hardware, etc.) I’d either go with the degree in Information Technology or the one in Computer Science (both teach about computers in general).
